How to find us
Travelling from the South
- Leave the M6 at Junction 38.
- At the roundabout, turn left towards Appleby on the B6260.
- Travel through Orton, over the fells and into the hamlet of Burrells (approx. 10 miles).
- At the top of the hill (in Burrells), turn right towards Great Ormside (also signed to the Wild Rose Caravan Park).
- Now use the ‘Local Directions’ section
Travelling from the North or North-East
- Take the A66 to Appleby-in-Westmorland.
- Drive into the town and turn off the main road across the bridge (onto the B6260).
- Follow this road through the town and out towards the hamlet of Burrells.
- At the top of the hill (just entering Burrells), turn left towards Great Ormside (also signed to the Wild Rose Caravan Park).
- Now use the ‘Local Directions’ section
Local Directions
- After approximately 2 miles on this road, take the first left, still following signs to the caravan park.
- After approx. 400m, take the first right.
- Continue past the entrance to the caravan park, along the narrow track and under the bridge.
- The Mill is approximately 500m further on, across the ford.

Instead: Follow the signs for “Wild Rose Caravan Park”. Drive past the entrance to the park, along the single track road, under the railway arch and down to the ford. Ormside Mill is over the ford.
